What we do
Print advertising, TV commercials, radio spots, websites – you name it, we do it. MG Lomb Advertising works directly with our client’s Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Directors of Marketing to develop: marketing materials, advertising campaigns, brands, corporate identities, sales marketing and promotional materials.
As our slogan Tying it all together™ states, we help our clients to achieve continuity. We accomplish this by repairing disjointed and inadequately developed materials, and applying a newly refined brand for a cohesive and successful program.
Tying it all Together™
This is our mission at MG Lomb Advertising, and the cornerstone of great results. Tying it all together is comprised of two KEY components: 1) create consistency for your message, brand, identity and advertising – this is critically important for your success. From print to television to radio, and the worldwide web, MG Lomb achieves consistency for our clients. 2) establish your company as “best choice” by making a powerful and meaningful connection with your customers. Tying your business to your customer’s top-of-mind consideration is our goal. Tying it all together equates to success for you, our client. This is where MG Lomb excels.

MG Lomb’s “Phases” Strategy
Our approach to development is based upon 20 years of experience. There is an ideal way, and we employ it whenever possible. This, our Phases Strategy, is an efficient scientific approach aimed at the highest possible return on investment for our clients.
Although every client is different, they all require similar results – a strong brand, effective advertising, and consistent materials. The underlying process for achieving these results is constant. As such, there is a best way to approach development. It yields the best quality and prevents costly reworking later. If followed in the specific order shown below, the best cost/quality ratio will be achieved.
Phase 1: Research
Phase 2: Development
Phase 3: Implementation
Phase 4: Maintenance
We understand that your need may not require MG Lomb to address all the Phases listed above. We also understand that an impending need may require you to address some deliverables out of order. We will work with you. It is our responsibility, however, to make you aware of the best possible approach as it relates to your situation. After that, it’s entirely up to you.
Our History & Milestones
1996: Michael G. Lomb (RIT, BFA 1992 – Industrial Design) founded Spark Design Group (renamed MG Lomb Advertising, Inc. in 2006). Michael left his position as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, at a local design firm to launch the agency.
From inception, the agency provided consulting and creative services to clients including Home Properties of New York, and Xerox Corporation. The work from these accounts was substantial enough to quickly outgrow the firm’s first humble office, and resulted in the agency growing to six full time staff, within the first two years.
MG Lomb Advertising is currently located in the quaint Village of Fairport, a Rochester NY suburb, alongside the picturesque Erie Canal.
1999: The agency added several new accounts, large and small, including Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Harris RF Communications Div., and (LGB – Germany). During this phase the agency’s capabilities and services grew to include international accounts and interactive marketing.
2002: While in Germany meeting with client Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk (EPL) Michael Lomb was asked by EPL’s President, Rolf Richter, to fly to the client’s NY City offices to meet with the CEO of their North American subsidiary LGB of America. MG Lomb Advertising was subsequently selected as their North American advertising agency responsible for all print advertising, media placement, special events and some public relations work.
2005: MG Lomb was awarded the development and management of an international advertising campaign for Syracuse NY based Black Clawson Converting Machinery, as well as the creation of their new corporate identity program. The client’s parent company (Davis-Standard Corp) was so impressed by the results that MG Lomb was selected to do the same project for them.
2006: MG Lomb launched international advertising campaign for Davis-Standard, LLC & Black Clawson with advertisements running in North America, Germany, China, and the Middle East. MG Lomb Advertising developed and launched a new website for The Gunlocke Company, division of the Hon Company.
2007: First Chinese website developed and launched for Davis-Standard Corp. & Black Clawson. (German website in production). MG Lomb launched a new interactive marketing tool for Johnson & Johnson’s Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics.
