Need

The Gunlocke Company (a division of HON International) is more than one hundred years old and well known as a producer of chairs for U.S. Presidents. The company had an existing website, but it did not represent them well. Although functional, the website was not visually appealing. Positioned as a hi-end company, Gunlocke needed to appear creative and elegant.

Challenge

Appeal to interior design firms and other creative professionals. Making the challenge especially daunting, MG Lomb Advertising was selected by Gunlocke to replace a firm just fired from this project for failing to deliver pleasing results. The firm that was fired had been recently ranked as one of the U.S.’s top ten web developers.

Solution

Dominate with sophistication, creativity, easy navigation and user friendly construction. Where others had over-designed with gimmicky scripting code and flashy buttons, we simplified. Elegance is not achieved with ostentatious graphics.

MG Lomb worked with Gunlocke’s brand developer to assure that brand was applied according to plan. The sales team participated regularly in critiques and content reviews. The President and Vice President’s of Sales and Marketing both participated in strategic development review.

Progress

Immediately after launching the website, Gunlocke, immensely pleased by our work, entered the new website into the Webby Awards competition.
